Long Covid
Until February last year Covid was not a word many of us were familiar with, now it is one we hear repeatedly each day. As you will have probably read in our previous articles, the team at Pure O2 have been very busy over the last year supporting Covid patients via the NHS. We have used our supply network to gain access to extra oxygen concentrators for hospitals across the UK. As at last the cases drop our focus is now turning more to those people who are suffering with Long Covid or Post Covid-19 Syndrome as it is also known in the medical profession. If you have had Covid-19, but it was more than four weeks ago and you are still struggling to get back to full health, maybe you are one of the many Long Covid sufferers. Firstly let’s look at what the symptoms are for Long Covid…
Symptoms for Long Covid
According to the NHS website there can be many variations on the symptoms displayed by people suffering from Long Covid, but these are the most common ones:
- extreme tiredness (fatigue)
- shortness of breath
- chest pain or tightness
- problems with memory and concentration (“brain fog”)
- difficulty sleeping (insomnia)
- heart palpitations
- dizziness
- pins and needles
- joint pain
- depression and anxiety
- tinnitus, earaches
- feeling sick, diarrhoea, stomach aches, loss of appetite
- a high temperature, cough, headaches, sore throat, changes to sense of smell or taste
- rashes
Of course these symptoms may also be indicative of different diseases and disorders, so if you are concerned you should consult your doctor.
You may have spoken to your doctor already and know you have Long Covid. If you are looking for ways to improve your respiratory function and energy levels then do consider speaking to one of our friendly team at Pure O2. We pride ourselves on our high levels of customer satisfaction, with a policy of always listening to our customers and giving time and consideration to any questions or concerns, as you will see from our testimonials.
How can Pure O2 help you with Long Covid?
Over the last few months we have supported many people suffering with the symptoms of Long Covid, by supplying oxygen concentrators. These units have helped improve energy levels, reduce sleeping difficulties, reduce chest pain and of course help with shortness of breath. We are not suggesting that using oxygen is a complete cure but it certainly has been seen to help reduce the effects and help with recovery. The oxygen concentrators which we particularly recommend for supporting those with Long Covid are the Simply Go, the DeVilbiss 10 and the Sequal Eclipse, which you can find out more about if you follow the links to the product pages.
