Could your shortness of breath be due to Long Covid?

Are you aware of the symptoms of Long Covid?  Do you know how to find out?  What would you do if you did think you had Long Covid?  The team at Pure O2 are always keen to help and advise on oxygen requirements for any respiratory or breathing difficulties, but in recent months we have found we are talking to more and more sufferers of Long Covid. We pride ourselves on attention to detail and understanding of each individual situation, which leads to our success in providing quality customer service and our high satisfaction levels.

Learn more about the symptoms of Long Covid

In our last article we talked about how to get advice about dealing with various aspects of Long Covid, but maybe we need to take a step back and revisit the symptoms of this ongoing virus.  We have highlighted the symptoms in previous articles, but for ease of reference we will list them again here. The most common side affects of Long Covid are:

  • Fatigue
  • Shortness of breath
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Chronic pain
  • Heart palpitations
  • Mental health issues

Of course just because you are experiencing one or more of these symptoms doesn’t necessarily mean you have Long Covid, as these symptoms also can be a sign of other illnesses.  It is advisable to contact your GP to confirm a diagnosis rather than just assuming you have Long Covid.  However, if you are looking for more information regarding these symptoms and you are keen to see what questions other Long Covid sufferers have asked then you could try the links on this Long Covid website.

How can Pure O2 help with the symptoms of Long Covid?

The symptoms noted above can occur as a result of oxygen deprivation, which is where the team at Pure O2 can help.  Using an oxygen concentrator to increase oxygen has been seen to help ease pain, facilitate breathing and as a result reduce sleeping difficulties and therefore fatigue.

All of these factors can then aid your recovery from Long Covid.  We have a wide range of portable and stationary oxygen concentrators depending on your particular requirements. If you are looking to facilitate breathing and help alleviate pain for a patient who is not mobile or may already be on long term oxygen therapy, you might want to try one of our NHS approved stationary oxygen concentrators

Alternatively if you are keen to return to an active lifestyle or you just want to be able to go to the shops or take a walk round the block then a portable oxygen concentrator may suit your needs better.

Whilst you can browse the different oxygen concentrators on these product web pages, the best course of action is to talk to one of our friendly team, as they will be able to advise you which oxygen concentrator is best suited to your requirements.

No matter what time of day is most convenient for you, they are at the end of the phone to help with your enquiries and find the best oxygen solution to meet your needs. You can reach them on 0870 712 0202, or you can use our UK freephone number if calling between 9am and 5pm on 0800 145 5902. If you are calling from overseas you can use our international number +44 (0)161 747 2617.
